Texas country music artist Trey Wilson released his second CD “Livin’ Around Here.”

Produced by Nashville producer-songwriter Bart Butler, the five-cut EP was recorded in Nashville’s County Q recording studio and features some of Nashville’s finest musicians.

Songs written by top Nashville song-smiths Randy Houser, Shane Minor, Kelly Lovelace, Phil O'Donnell, Joel Shewmake and Bart Butler cover subjects fans can relate to, according to Wilson.

“I tried to pick songs that people could really connect with. Whether that be a light-hearted song like “That’s Just How She Gets When I Drink,” that is a clever twist on the trouble a man can find himself in after a night of too much fun,” said twenty-year-old Wilson. “Or a song like “Oughta be a Law (Against Living Around Here)” that captures that restless feeling that you get after 18 years of growing up in a small town; every song on the album is easy to connect with because they are all true to life.”

Butler assembled a team of top Nashville session musicians to lend their talents to the project, some of whose credits include Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban and George Strait to name a few.

“It was a surreal experience to not only be in the same room as these musicians, much less to be working along-side them on a project of my own,” said Wilson. “At one point in the session I was actually face-to-face with George Strait’s fiddle player discussing what I wanted the fiddle part of one of the songs to sound like. How crazy is that?”

Wilson has also recently had success as a songwriter. His song, co-written with Tommy Calame and Linda Koehl “Whittle Away” recently went Gold on Universal Records Norway Recording Artist Steff Nevers’ album “Closest To My Heart.”

“This song was my first real attempt at songwriting,” said Wilson. “I wrote it when I was 16 years old, and it found its way into the hands of the right people. Tommy and Linda really deserve most of the credit for this one.”

Currently a senior at Belmont University in Nashville, majoring in music business, Wilson will be interning at major Nashville record label Broken Bow Records in the fall where he will be promoting artists such as Jason Aldean.
Wilson plans to bring his music back to Texas upon Graduation next spring.

“There’s just something special about a Texas crowd,” said Wilson. “The people in here have been very supportive of my career. I hope everybody comes out to one of my shows and picks up a copy of ‘Livin’ Around Here’.”
